Release Notes
0.2.3 — 2026-09-23
- Grid timeline scrubbing now covers the whole playback cycle, not just a block's own frames, and the frame readout shows position alongside elapsed time.
- Drop a
.blitfile directly onto the preview to import it. - Optional monthly AI request tally, off by default: turn it on in Settings to see a short cost estimate before generating and a heads-up before crossing your own monthly cap.
- Export, Settings, Shapes, and Director windows now share a consistent look.
- Fixed a crash opening the color swatch popover after switching between Solid and Gradient.
- Smaller fixes: taller gallery thumbnails no longer dominate the list; export filenames and AI error messages are more accurate.
0.2.1 — 2026-09-16
First public release.
- Twenty-five procedural tile sequences, swept by a threshold from empty to full, with a checkerboard modifier and six easing curves.
- Time-shifted grid playback — Sweep, Radiate, Snake, Spiral, Interference, Scatter, Noise, and more — maskable to a shape (built-in or hand-drawn) and paintable with solids or gradients.
- Export as PNG sequence, animated GIF, APNG, MP4, sprite sheets, ASCII, or a shareable
.blitrecipe. - A community gallery of saved setups, shared anonymously and reviewed before publication (on by default, with an opt-out).
- Optional AI features (Director, describe-a-shape) using your own API key with Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or OpenAI.
